60 Nebraska Cattleman August 2023 Cartridges for Cash Nebraska Cattlemen (NC) and Merck Animal Health are partnering to launch the Cartridges for Cash program. The program will invest in the next generation of Nebraska’s beef cattle industry leaders by providing financial support for NC’s Young Cattlemen’s Connections program and to the NC Foundation to fund two scholarships. Merck Animal Health will donate $0.25 per cartridge to the NC Foundation for scholarships and NC’s Young Cattlemen’s Connections program. The more cartridges, the larger the donation, with a maximum of $10,000 annually. The top contributors to the program will be awarded. Here's how you can participate in the program. 1. Save empty Revalor (trenbolone acetate and estradiol) and Ralgro (zeranol) implant cartridges. 2. Store them in a receptacle and write your name, operation, NC affiliate and approximate number of cartridges you are turning in. 3. Remit your cartridges in the following ways: a. Turn them into your local Merck Animal Health representative. b. Turn cartridges in at NC affiliate meetings or NC events. Please note that meeting invites will designate if cartridges will be collected by NC staff or leadership. NC vice chairs of Member Services will communicate with affiliates about collecting cartridges. c. Bring cartridges to the NC Annual Convention in December. d. Nebraska Cattlemen may designate additional pickup locations. Please be on the look out for further information.
